I'm sure you don't want to make it hard for recruiters and employers to invite you for an interview. That's why you need to make a difference between relevant and irrelevant information when writing your resume.
It's so easy to get carried away and think that every single info about you is important for recruiters, but, please, think twice.
There are data that should not be included in your CV, if nothing else, just for the sake of your privacy and your online security. If the recruiters need additional information, they will always ask for it later in the recruitment process.
If you have one or more of the following info in your resume, you should remove and correct it right now. You’ll thank me later. 🙂
⛔ Your full address, date of birth, or salary info - REMOVE
⭕ Unprofessional email address, unrelated to your name - CORRECT
⛔ Your Objective section instead of the Summary - REMOVE
⭕ Too small margins and chunky paragraphs - CORRECT
⛔ Cliché keywords (e.g. self-starter, key-player) - REMOVE
⛔ Skills and duties irrelevant for a job you are applying for - REMOVE
⭕ Work history beyond 10-15 years - CORRECT
⛔ Lies – REMOVE, REMOVE, REMOVE!
⛔ References – REMOVE
There are few exceptions from these rules, and they are usually related to country-specific recruitment practices.
