There are many beliefs related to resume writing that are actually not true. 👇
1️⃣ Myth: Resume should be one page
🟢 No, unless you are fresh out of college/university with no experience
2️⃣ Myth: It should include your personal address
🟢 No, the city and country info is enough
3️⃣ Myth: Resume should include your entire work history
🟢 No, especially if you have 20+ years of career
4️⃣ Myth: You should hide your work gaps
🟢 Never do that, always explain your employment gaps
5️⃣ Myth: Resume layout and design don’t matter
🟢 Oh, they do, resume MUST be well-presented (easy to read and find important info)
6️⃣ Myth: Resume should be as general as possible to increase your chances of getting hired
🟢 The opposite is true
7️⃣ Myth: A great resume will get you a job
🟢 Not necessarily; a good resume will get you an interview, which is the first step
8️⃣ Myth: You should give/send everyone your resume
🟢 You shouldn't; take care of your privacy, choose recruiters wisely, and don’t display your resume on LinkedIn
