If you haven't changed jobs in the last 3 years or you are new to the market, the current employment trends will test your strength to the max. As a senior-level professional, you will face a double challenge: on the one hand, your resume will have to catch and keep the attention of hiring managers, and on the other, you will face fierce competition.
So, what to do?
Focus on your career results - both on your resume and while interviewing. Your resume must also be digitally and visually appealing, easy to read, and easy to find relevant info. Roughly 95% of the resumes I've read this year failed to do so.
So, here are a few tips for getting your resume up to date:
💡 Remove the Objective section; write the Summary instead
💡 Remove "references available upon request"
💡 Include your location (city/country), mobile, e-mail, and LinkedIn profile in your contact details; remove your full home address and birthdate
If you updated your resume over 5 years ago, it would be best to rewrite it altogether.
Asking for professional support at this point would be a smart move and investment - work with a person who knows the current market circumstances and has a background in HR or recruitment.
Work smarter - save your time and gain much-needed confidence. 🍀
